The aim of the Growth Network is to create a peer network across Europe among the associations to facilitate the exchange of ideas and best practices in relation to growth factors. The next Network meeting will focus on the following issues: Youth Programme, Communication & PR and Recruitment.

Objectives By the end of the meeting, the participants will have: - Shared and collected best practices in the area of Growth
- Contributed to the establishment of the Growth Network through active participation
- Identified the next steps for the Growth Network
- Identified additional ways in which to encourage and involve other Member Organisations or National Scout Associations in the Region to work on membership growth
Participants profile - People interested and responsible for Growth and for one or more of the different growth factors
- People who are particularly responsible for growth and development, Youth Programme, Communication & PR and Recruitment
- People interested in thinking “out of the box” on growth
- Be able to commit time between Growth Network meetings to the community in order to maintain and promote it
- Be able to communicate well in English
Dates The Growth Network will be held from 8th to the 10th of May 2009. Participants should arrive at the venue before 20.00 on Friday 8th May, so that we can start with an introduction on the different topics. Participants are kindly requested to leave after 15.00 on the Sunday, 10th May. Application Deadline is the 7 April 2009. Venue The Growth Network will take place in Houens Odde, Denmark. (http://www.houensodde.dk/) To getting there you would either need to fly to “Copenhagen Airport Kastrup” and then take a train to “Kolding”, or alternatively you can fly to “Buillund Airport”. Language The Growth Network will be held in English. Working methods Guiding and Scouting methods will be used during the Growth Network. This includes learning by doing, working in small groups, exercises, plenary and informal discussion. A specific focus will be on the sharing of best practices Participants are expected to participate actively during the Growth Network and be able to exchange their experiences. Participation fee The participation fee will be 100 Euros per person. Travel costs are the responsibility of the participant or his/her Association. Visa The participants and/or their Association are responsible for organising their travel and obtaining a visa if necessary. Please be aware, that it may take up to six weeks to obtain a visa. So please send your visa form with the application form in order to allow sufficient time for visas. Applications Applications should be submitted to the WOSM European Regional Office europe@scout.org before 7 April 2009.
